Duh, I got ice cream on the way to everything.
*Side note* The reason I'm making this post is because I know the importance of being honest and true online. I have an online presence-- people see my work and read my words... so, personally, it's extremely important for me to not hide the bad, gritty shit. Just as it's equally important for me to not speak about my life with merely emotions and anger.*
This blog post is basically just a story of me stalking a cat.
Trying to make a blog post without complaining is hard work. (LOL)
This is a trip to a park that's within Amsterdam City limits. I was coming off of my anti depressant medication during this time and I was having a seriously hard time dealing with life...but Brett got me out of the house anyways and we took the puppers with us. I don't even remember when this trip was and it's proving to be quite the difficult post to make. I suppose I'm apologizing in advance. I'll try my best. Hahah
I'm going to go ahead and say this now: If it weren't for the internet, I'd be dead a long time ago. Being in another country is especially hard, but you know what keeps me going? The fact that there's an online community of people that 'care' about me.
Lawd help me with the stinky Cheese of the Netherlands.
Back porch livin'! I thought that I would be much more interested in living out the summer on the rooftop patio, but turns out I hate climbing stairs so much. We already live on the 3rd floor, so taking that extra flight really just puts it over the top. Not to mention I really fucking hate the stairs going to the 4th floor.
I have previously made some posts about my first two months here and here, but I want to continue doing semi-regular posts keeping you up to date with what's going on in my European life as an American.
I deserve to take up space, and so do you.
This day we decided we didn't want to go too far from the city, and that we wanted a break from constant dog love. lolol.
I was really impressed by this place. All of the goats had really cool pens with lots of things to climb on and fresh hay to eat. They were all SUPER friendly! And the baby goat pen was even more amazing...
The mid day sun was beating down on me and I was hungry, thirsty and hot. So basically a trifecta of disaster.
We actually ended up getting on the wrong train so we got off at Haarlem and decided to adventure around a little bit before hopping on the right train towards Den Hague.
In February when I was visiting Brett for the first time we got me a pretty little bicycle and we biked all the way to Volendam, NL. I was amazed at all of the bike lanes and such going EVERY.WHERE. My bike is what's called an "omafiets". Which is basically a grandma bike. With back pedal brakes and no gears. That definitely took some getting used to. Someday I want to upgrade to a fancy bike but I love my little omafiets for now.
I had no idea what the hell I was getting myself into...
